The Warm Up

This is the first tutorial, about drawing, of many to come.

 So we'll start with the warm up. Just like most activities, art also requires a bit of a warm up. Drawing uses the right side of your brain and beginners need to activate this part by warming up.



The fastest method to get you going is the face/vase drawing. I use this a lot if I need a quick hit into ''drawing mode''

 Drawing shapes and shading are also effective methods of getting the right side of your brain going.

 Before you can learn how to draw anime or anything for that matter, you need to get used to activating the right side of your brain. During your drawing time, you should avoid speech or distractions and avoid ''labeling''. Labeling is the process whereby your brain assigns names to specific things, instead of calling a nose ''a nose'' see the the lines and shapes that make up the nose.

You should see an improvement in the quality of your drawings after a warm up. Once you have the ''ability'' to use the right side of your brain, it's then time to learn the basics.
